Community Causes

 

The Australian Red Cross

 

Every year Laguna gets involved in the Noosa Triathlon to raise money for the Red Cross and why not we have the perfect location!  We put together a yummy sausage sizzle teamed with nice cold drinks and all funds raised go to the Red Cross.  Last year (2011) we raised $2876.75,

 

Laguna also thanks Tim Adams from Tim Adams Specialty Coffee who also sets up shop on the Laguna site and donates a portion of his takings from the day to the Red Cross.

2012 is the 30th Anniversary for the Noosa Tri

31st October to th 4th November.

 

 

Cancer Council    

 

 

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Australia men and the second most common cause of male cancer deaths.  Tragically, this year almost 20,000 Australian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 3,300 men will die of the disease.  What is not commonly understood is that men can be diagnosed wtih prostate cancer as early as in their forties.

 

Our Gympie office will be hosting their 4th annual Prostate Fundraiser BBQ this year, Prostate awarness month is September our BBQ date will be confirmed.

Laguna also rally businesses to donate items to raffle with all monies being raised going to the Cancer Council.  Laguna's resident auctioneer, Bonnie Hollander will be there on the day to put on and host our Charity Auction, along with our (in)famous Laguna Clowns!

 

We invite everyone to join us at Memorial Park in Gympie (opposite the Laguna office) on 23rd September at midday to buy a sausage, sandwich and bid at our Charity Auction to raise much needed funds for this worthy cause.  Lets make it bigger and better than last year!

 

Rely For Life - (Cancer Council)

 

Every year a team from Laguna get together and enter a team into the Relay for Life which is to raise money for cancer, last year the team attended the Kawana event and raised well over $1,000 go team!

 

 

 

This year 2012 we will be attending the Noosa Relay for Life 1st & 2nd June.
